TUTORIAL 1:_________________________________

Signal Spectrum Analysis
(Registration is open - Space limited to 20 persons)

INSTRUCTORS: B.Eng. Héctor Madariaga and MSc. Elsa Torres
Rohde & Schwarz de México

DAY AND TIME: Wednesday 13th, 16:30 - 18:30.

Overview: Rohde & Schwarz is pleased to offer a half-day tutorial on signal spectrum analysis. In this tutorial, participants will learn to correctly identify the main technical features and settings of spectrum analyzers and their mode of operation. The tutorial will include a practical session with a state-of-the-art handheld spectrum analyzer model FSH8 of Rhode & Schwarz. With the FSH8 it is possible to demodulate and monitor electromagnetic signals propagating in the surroundings.

Upon completion of the tutorial, participants will be able to identify and compare the technical characteristics of spectrum analyzers, as well as to properly use spectrum analyzers for the characterization of signals in the frequency domain.

Héctor Madariaga graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), as an Engineer in Telecommunications with major on Radio Signals and Systems. He has experience on RF and MW systems: installation, administration and management of mobile satellite networks (ship-tanks and oil rigs). He has expertise also in radio services based on TETRA. He is currently working at Rohde & Schwarz of Mexico as an Application Engineer in the Instrumentation Division for Central-South Mexico and Central America.

Elsa Torres graduated from the ITESM Campus Monterrey as an engineer in Electronics and Communications in December 1998 and as a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering specializing in Telecommunications in May 2002. Since March 2004, she has been with Rohde & Schwarz de Mexico, where she serves as a Sales Engineer for the northeast region of Mexico.
